Ryan currently serves as the Multi-Media Director of an Assembly of God church with a membership base of roughly 1,000 located in Van Buren, AR.

Ryan’s most recent achievement was putting together a fund raising video for the 2010 Community Thanksgiving Service in Van Buren, Ar. That video raised over $6,500, which was given as aid to two different local charities. Visit the Church of Van Buren web site for more information HERE. This was Ryan’s third year in a row to be asked to put the fund raising video together.

Prior to his current ministry position Ryan worked for an international broadcasting company where he served as the Engineer, Producer, and Webmaster.

At the church Ryan’s daily duties include but are not limited to; Web site maintenance, audio and video editing, audio/video/lighting equipment operation, maintenance, and upkeep, sorting out church IT and computer related issues, managing and scheduling a team of 25 Media Ministry volunteers, managing media duplication for church congregation and shut-ins.

Ryan’s weekend and mid-week service responsibilities include starting up all media equipment needed for service. Here is a list of some of that equipment; nine flat panel television monitors, 4 projectors, video production system, sound booth equipment, graphics and confidence monitor computers, stage lights, and the nursery monitoring system. Other duties also include running 1 if not more of the thirteen Media Ministry positions needed for each of our 4 services. Generally during service, Ryan will operate as the Front-of-House Engineer or direct IMAG for video production from the Media Room.

The church has several different events, performances, and presentations throughout the year which require a great deal of time, work, and preparation with regards to media. These performances have been excellent learning experiences as well as great opportunities to minister through media to as many as 3500 people in a single weekend.

With presentations of; annual “Passion Play”, annual Christmas Productions, annual Missions Banquets, annual Community Thanksgiving Services, several Human Videos, various Southern Gospel Music Events, Fourth of July Celebrations, Women’s’ Conferences, Youth & Children’s Revivals, Outreach Revivals, High School Graduations, Weddings, Funerals, as well as several other events, Ryan has had the opportunity and privilege to manage the sound FOH and mix for recording, build lighting plots with moving Martin lights, IMAG, film, produce, and edit presentation videos, as well as many other responsibilities and duties constantly while always achieving projected goals on or before deadlines set by church leadership.

Ryan’s favorite opportunity in his ministry has been the chance to travel across our country and around the world on mission trips in order to document, film, photograph, and capture the reality of what “Mission’s Work” really is. Ryan has traveled on a number of different missions trips in his life, and in the last two years has participated in trips to “Skid Row” in Los Angeles, California, the American Indian College and Salt River Assembly of God Church on an Indian Reservation just outside of Phoenix, Arizona, the Hillcrest Children’s Home in Hot Springs, AR, and working hand in hand with Calcutta Mercy Ministries in Calcutta, India.

With regards to the media ministry involvement in “Missions Work” Ryan has this to say, “I believe that the ability to realistically show the seriousness of the needs of the people in the most impoverished places of the world is something church congregations must see. If they can see the needs of these people, they can begin to comprehend how to support them whether it is through prayer, finances, manual labor, or by fulfilling ‘The Great Commission’ and going out and ministering to them. Many times Christians need to see people in need in order to understand that they themselves are the ones who are supposed to help them.”
