Ryan currently serves as the Pastor of Discipleship and Media at Butterfield Church in Van Buren, AR.

Ryan is in the midst of several different projects at the church right now. One of the most exciting projects he is currently tackling is the re-launch of the Young Adult Ministry, Ignite. This ministry reaches out to young adults ranging in ages from 18-30ish. The main goal is not only to bring young adults back to church, but to help them grow in their walk with Christ, establish strong Christian relationships, and obviously hear God’s Word and learn from life applicable lessons.

Some of Ryan’s most recent achievements include Revamping the Discipleship Ministries at Butterfield, streamlining the Membership, Ministry Connection and Water Baptism classes as well as teaching and overseeing the Young Adults and New Believers Sunday School classes.

In 2013, the University of the Ozarks honored Ryan with the Young Alumni Service Award at the Annual Alumni Awards Banquet, the next day he was voted in as the President of the Alumni Board of Directors. In the past Ryan accepted the responsibility to produce the fund raising videos for the 2011, 2010, 2009, & 2008 Community Thanksgiving Services in Van Buren, Ar. These videos raised over $18,000, which was given as aid to several different local charities and service organizations.

Prior to his current ministry position, Ryan worked for TruNews, an international broadcasting Ministry where he served as the Engineer, Producer, and Webmaster.

In serving as the Media Pastor at Butterfield as well, Ryan’s weekend and mid-week service responsibilities include managing all Audio, Video and Lighting technology needed for each service. Ryan and his wife Tiffany serve the Volunteer Media Ministry Team of roughly 20 volunteers who staff the 13 positions required for each Worship Service. Ryan also manages the entire Church Network, Server, all Information Technology, both of the church Websites ButterfieldAG.com & WednesdaysOnPurpose.com  as well as overseeing all church social and new media including the church Facebook Page.

Some of Ryan’s favorite ministry opportunities have been the chance to travel across our country and around the world on mission trips. In some of these instances he has had the chance to film, photograph, and capture the reality of what “Mission’s Work” really is. Ryan has traveled on a number of different missions trips to “Skid Row” in Los Angeles, California, the American Indian College and Salt River Assembly of God Church on an Indian Reservation just outside of Phoenix, Arizona, the Hillcrest Children’s Home in Hot Springs, AR, and working hand in hand with Calcutta Mercy Ministries in Calcutta, India.

With regards to the media ministry involvement in “Missions Work” Ryan has this to say, “I believe that the ability to realistically show the seriousness of the needs of the people in the most impoverished places of the world is something church congregations must see. If they can see the needs of these people, they can begin to comprehend how to support them whether it is through prayer, finances, manual labor, or by fulfilling ‘The Great Commission’ and going out and ministering to them. Many times Christians need to see people in need in order to understand that they themselves are the ones who are supposed to help them.”
